Bowel Obstruction
Intestinal blockage or twisting of the stomach can cause your dog to drool excessively. This condition is known as gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV). This leads to the gas and food not being able to escape, and pressure in the stomach increases. GDV can cause your dog to drool excessively; you would also notice a distended stomach.
